Our Mission
BFC's mission is to provide help, healing, and hope. This will be accomplished through the consistent application of God's Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. We are simply instruments in the Redeemer's hands.
Our vision is to be strengthened inwardly by God's Spirit as Christ dwells in our hearts through faith. Rooted and grounded in love, we seek to understand with all believers the immeasurable love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge, and to be filled with the fullness of God.
(that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. – Eph 3:16-19)
This is accomplished through a high view of God and His Word, along with expository teaching and preaching that aims to reveal the greatness and goodness of our God.
We desire that everyone who joins Bethesda Family Church will discover help, healing, and assured hope in our faith in God.
Our Vision
How We Teach
The teaching of Bethesda Family Church is based on the Bible. It is based on an interpretation of the Scripture that is:
Normal Meaning: Understanding Scripture words in their everyday sense, unless the surrounding text suggests a different meaning.
Literal Interpretation: Taking Scripture to mean what it plainly says, unless the context clearly points to a figurative meaning.
Grammatical Rules: Interpreting the text by applying standard rules of grammar.
Historical Context: Understanding Scripture words as they were understood during the time they were written.
Systematic Approach: Interpreting Scripture by categorizing and comparing its teachings with the entire Bible.
Essential Truths
Sola Scriptura ("Scripture Alone") – The Bible is the sole authority for faith and practice.
Sola Fide ("Faith Alone") – Salvation comes through faith in Christ, not by works.
Sola Gratia ("Grace Alone") – Salvation is a gift from God, given by His grace.
Solus Christus ("Christ Alone") – Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and humanity.
Soli Deo Gloria ("To the Glory of God Alone") – All things are done for God's glory, not human recognition.
